Introduction to Flamenco Dance and Song from Spain for children

(Ages kindergartners to Elementary school ages.   I can separate them.

Parents are welcome to participate with their children!  We will teach basic rhythm and dance skills, with some singing and Palmas (hand clapping).  A simple choreography. This dance is used in all festivals in Spain. Class will be conducted in Spanish and English enabling the children to learn simple Spanish words and dance language commands. The songs are in Spanish and the children will learn verses to the dance.  Video clipping of children dancing in Spain will be part of the course. Ages 5 to 11  Our guitarist John R. will play for most of the classes.  Ole!

class we will start studying la  Sevillanas letras /songs and the basic Sevillanas step/ or paso. It will be repeated many, times. Basic tech. children ages under five or five will have only 45 min class ; the older children will stay from the full hour. This summer I notice the 4 and 5s one hour is too much. Unless Your children can handle an hour. Enjoy learning with your children  la Sevillanas de Sevilla!  Note there is no charge to the parents. I will explain why in class. Parents please bring small tape record, not video cameras. The children need to hear themselves sing with our guitarist and  most of all learning the pronunciation of the spanish words in the song recorded. Castanets will be added to one of our classes session.
