Join together for the special concert on Friday , June 9, -8:00 PM Mountain View center for the Performing arts

José Manuel Roldán Artistic Music Director of the Patio de las Cruces Flamenco School
José Manuel Roldán (born in Seville in 1961) is one of the most outstanding figures of flamenco guitar. His National Guitar Award or his presence as a finalist at Giraldillo del Toque are evidences of this. Along with other figures, such as Antonio Gades, Mario Maya, Chocolate and Antonio Mairena, or as a guitar soloist, he has played in the most important theatres of the world, such as the Royal Festival Hall in London, the Albert Hall in New York, the Opera in Frankfurt, the Opera in Sidney or the Blue Note in Tokyo. With a virtuous technique, he has the capacity to explore the avant-garde musical trends and to reinforce the emotional intensity that is typical in flamenco, making him one of the figures in this style gifted with the greatest sensitivity. With a long chart hit as a guitar accompanist, his work De Nácar (Pasarela, 1996) has been acknowledged by the public and the critics as the best instrument to understand the dimension of his performances.

Rubina Valenzuela Associate Artistic Director FLAMENCO EN CONCIERTO
The Flamenco Society of San Jose presents direct from Spain the Mino family. Featuring virtuosos' flamenco guitarist Ricardo Mino. He has enhanced his career as a guitarist by creating shows with his wife, the dancer Pepa Montes, and his son, pianist Pedro Ricardo Miño. These shows include "Flamenco de Concierto" (1993), "25 Años Caminando Juntos" (1994), "Ad Libitum" (1997) and "Seis Movimientos de Baile Flamenco" (1998).
Pedro Ricardo Miño was born into a family of renowned flamenco artists in Sevilla, the heartland of the flamenco culture. With his guitarist father, Ricardo Miño, as his teacher and his dancer mother, Pepa Montes, nourishing his spirit he began playing piano at the age of four. Classically trained as a recent graduate of the Sevilla Conservatory of Music, Pedro Ricardo stands alone in the world of flamenco piano.
