Rubina Valenzuela has years of professional flamenco experience working / studying with renowned flamenco artists in Spain and the US. Rubina Valenzuela has been dancing flamenco and singing for over 30 years. She draws from this rich palette to produce moving and exciting classes, and brings the soul of Andalucía traditional Flamenco into the environment. Rubina Valenzuela, also does presentations at public and private schools to introduce the youth of our community to the culture and music of Andalucia, Spain.

Introduction to Flamenco Song & Dance

(Ages 5-11)

Parents are well come to participate with their children! All are welcome! We will teach basic rhythm and dance skills, with some singing and Palmas (hand clapping). A simple choreography. This dance is use in all festivals in Spain. Class will be conducted in Spanish and English enabling the children to learn simple Spanish words and dance language commands. The songs are in Spanish and the children will learn verses with the Guitar Accompaniment. Pre-registration required! www.flamencarubina.com. (No class 4/4 & 7/4.)

Introduction to Flamenco Dance from Spain

This course is intended for students with little or no prior flamenco experience. Training in footwork, posture, rhythm and technique with some simple choreography and guitar accompaniment will join the classes. www.flamencarubina.com. Drop in $20. Pre-registration required! (No class 4/4 & 7/4.)

Beginner/Intermediate Flamenco Dance

This course is intended for students who have some prior experience in flamenco dance who desire to improve their technical skills. Rubina Valenzuela has studied with some of the greatest instructors in Spain: Concha Vargas, El Torombo, Angelita Vargas, Juana Amaya, Pepa Montes,Antonio Canales,Jose Galvan, Paki del Rio, Juan Povillo. She has also performed for 4 years in one of the most traditional flamenco clubs in Seville such as 'La Carboneria. She is also well-known in California as a flamenco singer.
